Fly Description
The Deer Hair Emerger (universally abbreviated by anglers as the DHE) is a masterclass in impressionistic fly design. Popularized by author and fly tier Bob Wyatt in his highly influential book Trout Hunting: The Pursuit of Happiness, the DHE was created to solve a specific problem: catching large, selective trout in highly pressured waters without the fragility and tying complexity of traditional patterns.
